As a web designer, I work with two monitors.
My graphics card has two video output sockets. This allows me to connect two screens to my PC and by adding some settings to Personlisation in Windows, I am able to stretch my Desktop across two monitors. My left-hand monitor is the better monitor and is connected by DVI and I use this to hold my web browser when I am creating websites as this gives me the best resolution and colour rendition.
I use the second monitor on the right to place my text editor where I can see the code behind the web page. This way, I can find problems on web pages by being able to view both the web page and the code at the same time. This works very well for me. The other day, however, a problem suddenly reared its head. My monitor on the right looked a little blurry and the objects on it seemed to be distorted and misshapen. So I went into the menu settings of my second monitor and found that the resolution being sent by the computer was being wrong.
I was surprised by this since I hadn't changed it recently but nevertheless I went into Windows Personalisation to rectify the problem. However, the second monitor's resolution was not available in the list of resolutions.
This was mystifying. So I went into the NVIDIA control panel to check my graphic card's settings and upon inspection it reported that the second monitor's native resolution was pixels by pixels.
Since I knew the correct resolution was pixels by pixels I knew now that the root of my problem was that the graphics card was detecting the resolution incorrectly. Perhaps something had gone wrong in my monitor or with the cable. I decided to use trusty old Google to find the cause.
Normally, when you have a problem with your computer, someone has talked about the same problem on the Internet and you can find the solution. I found many ideas on there and they either did not make sense or if I tried them, simply did not work. How to Fix Display Monitors Not Detected in Windows Dual, Triple, QuadrupleConnected to Video Card
I then remembered an old IT custom. If it isn't working, then switch it off and switch it on again. This is the secret to curing so many computer problems I couldn't believe I hadn't thought of it before. Sadly, it did not work for me though. So once again I was stuck and I had to return to Google. In all the hundreds of pages, forum entries and blog entries I read, I suddenly discovered the solution to my problem.Saudi arabia eid milad un nabi
There is a second IT secret fix that I hadn't thought of. Switch everything off and unplug it for 10 minutes and then switch it all back on again. You see, lots of IT equipment remembers some settings when left plugged in as it keeps capacitors in the system running which allow small amounts of data to be retained.Leisure trends 2020
Switching off for at least 30 seconds lets these run out and therefore reset themselves.I just installed Windows 7 bit Home Premium. Please go to www. Thankyou massively for your help. Once I determined which graphics card it was I just had to go to the manufacturers website and download a windows 7 driver and it was all fixed. Thankyou all. This usually means that Windows is using the built in display driver for your graphics card thus limiting the use of higher resolutions and refresh rates.
After that all you should have to do is unplug the Viewsonic, turn it off and back on again and then reconnect it to your computer. It should then be recognized as PnP-Monitor and the maximum resolution be selectable. I would ask you to completely uninstall the display drivers without leaving any traces of NVidia graphic components on your computer.
Click on Start; in the start search type devmgmt. Expand display adapter. Right click on the Nvidia component and choose to Uninstall. Download the latest drivers for your display card from the computer manufacturer website and install it. Jonnie Brown February 10, Ads by Google. Jonnie Brown. I see this is the most popular place on net regarding to Windows 7. So let me ask you a question. I usually use x screen resolution on 20" widescreen monitor, both on XP an Vista, and it look normal. But on Windows 7 I can use only recomended resolution, wich means x All other resolutions do not give natural picture. For example on x my screen look like movie on TV screen, with black stripes on top and botom of screen.
I had a similar issue, but I installed video drivers from Vista and the problem was fixed. You might want to try that. I've used x64 version of build and of Win7 and both of them worked fine for my daily works. Yesterday, I upgraded from build to the newly released build and afterwards I'm having problem with the resolution of my secondary monitor attached to my notebooks external display port. It worked fine with both of the older builds with the resolution x, which is the recommended resolution for the monitor.
I've had a problem with buildhowever I could solve it by changing the monitor driver to a custom one I made using Rivatuner. This time nothing I've done has worked, so I would be happy if you can help me by sharing your experience. Installed drivers from WindowsUpdate with Antivirus software turned offtried to change resolution, stuck at x Changed monitor driver to a custom made with the resolution x defined, stuck at x Can see the resolution in Screen Resolution menu but when trying to apply it, stuck at x Tried to create custom resolutions with unchecked "Hide modes that the monitor cannot display, tried to test the custom resolution of x, it worked in older builds, but in buildit even don't tries to test no screen flickering and gives "Custom Mode Failed" error, stuck at x Create custom resolution with advanced settings and all timing options, same custom mode failed message without screen flickering, stuck at x Anyone experiencing the same problem?
Anyone knows what else to do? Since I've experienced the same problem with build and could get over it by changing the monitor driver, it is now strange, why this solution even not works for this build. Anyway, any help would be appericiated.
No program installations made to be sure, just the updates from Windows Update and all not found drivers. Tried the x resolution with the driver came from Windows Update, no luck, still max resolution x Giving up on build There is a problem whether with the display driver system or monitor driver. After some search with google, it seems like, the resolution problem will stay as pain with dual or single monitors in systems using NVIDIA cards. So, it make sense to know for all, if NVIDIA graphic card users with or without secondary monitor experiencing the problem about the screen resolution and not being able to use the native resolution of their monitors.
In all cases and all seems to be possible solutions, I've had no luck and the highest resolution I could get was x NVIDIA's control panel gives "custom mode test failed" error without even testing the resolution, if you try to test a custom resolution. Shame that this problem wasn't part of the older builds and now with the public beta there it is. PS: For the ones, that use older builds with succesfully native solutions of their monitors, please don't think that the upgrade will be ok without a problem, this has been done before and it ends in the same way!Keep in touch and stay productive with Teams and Officeeven when you're working remotely.

There are a number of reasons why this happens and plenty of fixes you can try to sort it out. To force it to check again, right-click the desktop and select Display Settings from the resulting pop-up menu. In the following window, click the Detect button located under the display diagram. Turn the display off and then on again. That may be all it needs to recognize the video feed and start displaying it correctly. If they do seem well secured, unplug and plug them in again just to be sure.
You can also try using a new cable in case the old one has issues bent pins, a short, exposed wire, etc. Sometimes ports themselves can be damaged and switching to another is all you need to do to correct it. Update your drivers — Windows 10 supports multiple monitors by default, but your current setup may not be configured correctly.
If it does, consider running it as the primary display until you determine the root problem. Step 1: Right-click your desktop and select the Display Settings option on the resulting pop-up menu.
Step 2: The Settings app opens with the Display panel loaded by default. Click on the secondary display shown in the diagram. If we go back in time for a moment to talk about TVs that were around long before the advent of LCD or Plasma screens, there was one main problem that content creators were running into: the lack of standardized equipment that made it near-impossible to design shows and movies that would look great on all screens.
Overscan was the solution, and would cut off the edges and only really show the parts of the screen that were considered important.
In most cases, your aspect ratio will be set to something along the lines of a resolution. In some cases, despite your best efforts, you might have no luck getting the picture to show up correctly. Fortunately, there are some steps you can take in your Windows and Mac settings that might be able to fix the problem for you.
A window should pop up with a menu on the left that looks similar to the one below. Select Adjust Desktop Size and Position. Click on the second monitor your TV and make sure the settings look similar to what we have set. Just keep in mind that your resolution and refresh rate may be different depending on the make of your TV. At this point, a screen should pop up like the one below.
